Focus Puppy Lamb & Rice Formula
Focus Puppy Lamb & Rice Formula is rated out of 5by 6.Rated 5 out of 5by Grantley3682 from best food for my frenchie puppies I have used a lot of grain free expensive puppy foods, like innova, taste of the wild, solid gold, as well as Iams. I have to say the puppies had really bad diarrahea. Talked to my vet and she recommended pro plan. Puppies stools were amazing.. About three weeks ago and got another puppy and she was fed kirkland Brand food, which is also a premium food. Tried adjusting the puppies to that brand and had issues with that... So I will say I am sold on this lamb and rice and never will switch again... He didn't eat them and i realized he didn't like them as much. he has such high energy that this product is great. He loves lamb and rice and his stomach isn't as upset as it was when he was eating the chicken and rice of blue buffalo and Purina ONE. Focus, Lamb and Rice is great for dogs that have sensitive stomachs and are very picky about their food. Date published: 2013-10-19Rated 5 out of 5by MisterBigDave3 from So Far So Good Short and sweet... I recently adopted a 4 month old beagle pup. She was on Purina Puppy Chow which I really don't care for, I consider it basically a corn-chow food. Anyway, I switched her to Purina Pro Plan Lamb and Rice and after a week now I feel she is doing very well on it, is more content, sleeping the night and calmer. We've had six dogs all from puppies so we're not new to all this. That said, I would never reccomend Purina Puppy Chow, but Pro Plan yes. She loved that food but it upset her stomach and had diarrhea for a month. We recently switched over to Pro Plan and she loves and hasn't had any diarrhea since. Her brothers were also eating Taste of the Wild and made them sick so they also switched over to Purina and are doing much better! I highly recommend this food for a dog with a sensitive stomach!! Keep moistened Pro Plan available at all times. Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned (6-8 weeks). After weaning, Pro Plan can be fed moistened or dry. For best results, develop a regular feeding schedule such as three small meals a day for younger puppies. You can gradually reduce to one feeding in the morning and one in the evening as your puppy ages. The routine should not vary. As puppies near adulthood, their calorie needs may drop, and your puppy may begin leaving some food in the bowl. Don't misinterpret this as an indication of dislike for the food. Instead, begin offering less so your puppy doesn't overeat and stays in ideal body condition.Nestlé Purina Research indicates that avoiding overfeeding of puppies may help their development. Maintaining ideal body condition is key to encouraging proper growth in all puppies, especially large breeds. The indicated amounts are only a guideline. If your puppy becomes overweight, a reduction of your puppy’s daily food intake may be appropriate. You may wish to consult your veterinarian about a weight control program.FEEDING FOR REPRODUCTIONPro Plan provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female's ideal body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.MAKING THE SWITCH TO PRO PLANAlthough you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog’s current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.
