Select™ Adult Grain Free Formula
Select Adult Grain Free Formula is rated out of 5by 8.Rated 5 out of 5by vetstudent from Great Addition! My dog has had sensitive skin and paws that easily become itchy and inflamed, but even though fish-based foods reliably cleared her symptoms, it has always been difficult to get her to eat them. I would typically have to mix in a little bit of peanut butter or canned food to get her to eat a fish-based diet. I decided to give this food a try and have been mixing it into her existing food... Not only has her skin remained clear, but she also eagerly picked out the kibbles of this food while leaving the rest of her food behind and has been obsessively licking the scoop that touched this grain-free diet. I've tried several other products including other brands of limited ingredient and grain-free diets over the past year looking for a food that she will eat without constant coaxing while keeping her skin clear, but she has never been as excited about any other food as she has been with this one! It has been a huge success! Date published: 2013-09-06Rated 4 out of 5by Matt from Good product My small dog transitioned to this formula easily. She licks the bowl for ten minutes after all the food is gone. Date published: 2013-09-06Rated 5 out of 5by Andy from GOOD FORMULA A great step up for the Purina Line! Purina needs to step up their game and show these "premium food" companies how its done ! Date published: 2013-09-06Rated 1 out of 5by Jackie from Still not impressed There is a total lack of protein, the use of added salt and unspecified animal fat. I could continue to nitpick.. but I will leave it at that. Date published: 2013-10-17Rated 2 out of 5by Maria from Very Expensive Product I have used this food since it has come out, so far it seems to be a good product for my dogs, but it is way to costly to continue using! Date published: 2013-09-06Rated 2 out of 5by Netter from Smells like ashes I agree there's not enough animal protein yet. And it smells terrible. It smells like cigarette ashes and it's expensive. Expense is not a problem if I think it's a high quality food, there are other brands out there that have been doing grain free for much longer. I think Pro Plan has a way to go yet. Date published: 2013-09-06Rated 3 out of 5by ads1 from The regular is better I don't feel this has the important nutrition that the Pro plan with grain does. Unless your dog needs to be on a grain free diet, I would say pass on this. The value of the Pro Plan Savor is more efficient in my opinion. Date published: 2013-07-07Rated 3 out of 5by Debbie from Switched to this formula-but Our Sheltie needed a corn free product switching stopped the awful breath, coat, excrement problems. BUT the price has gone up again to $52 for the large bag. Despite registering online, I have never received one coupon, time to switch again to a grain free formula that offers a coupon. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily.MAKING THE SWITCH TO PRO PLANAlthough you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog’s current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet's health, see your veterinarian regularly.
