  1. <p>If your cat has a Body Condition Score of 6, you can feel her ribs but may also feel an excess fat covering. Her waist and abdominal fat pad are noticeable but not super obvious and an abdominal tuck is absent.</p> <p><strong>Did You Know?</strong><br />Cats that live indoors, especiallly in apartments, are more likely to be overweight.</p>
  2. <p>If your cat has a Body Condition Score of 1, you can easily see her ribs (if she's a shorthaired cat) with no visible fat.   3. <p>A Body Condition Score of 2 means you can easily see your cat's ribs (if she's a shorthaired cat) as well as her lower vertebrae. She'll have minimal muscle mass, a pronounced abdominal tuck and no easily felt fat.</p> <p><strong>Did You Know?</strong><br />Domestic shorthair/domestic longhair/domestic mediumhair cats are at a greater risk of being overweight.</p>

  7. <p>A cat with a Body Condition Score of 7 will have ribs that harder to feel because they're under a moderate fat covering. Her waist is not very noticeable, she has an obvious rounding of her belly and a moderate abdominal fat pad.</p> <p><strong>Did You Know?</strong><br />Every excess pound on an average domestic shorthair/domestic longhair/domestic mediumhair cat is equal to 14-15 pounds on a 5'4" woman.</p>
  8. <p>If your cat has a Body Condition Score of an 8, you will not be able to feel her ribs. Her waist is absent and she has an obvious rounding of her abdomen with a prominent belly fat pad.
