My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Smudge was declining and not moving as well. She did not seem happy. I started her on Bright Minds for Small dogs. She was 13. I was amazed how she perked up. She began going up and down the stairs again and would run up the wheelchair ramp. Her tail never stopped moving when she was outside. I am a physician and somewhat suspicious advertising. I saw a remarkable improvement. My 9 year old Cavalier is on it now.
I started both my senior small dogs on Bright Mind a couple of years ago. I thought I could see a difference in their alertness and energy levels. Now I am sure--my 9-pound,14-year-old shi-poo has a bladder stone, so the vet started her on a prescription food to try to dissolve the stone. It didn't take long before she began acting like an "old" dog, lying around and not wanting to do much of anything. I know she IS old, but she had not acted like it before. She had lots of energy and still wanted to play. I decided to switch her back to Bright Mind and try an alternative method to try to dissolve the stone (apple cider vinegar). I decided it was more important to keep her feeling young and active than to keep her from peeing so much. Besides, she is trained to go on pads, so it is not a big problem for me. She is starting to be active and playful again. I had to write to let you, and everyone else, know the difference Bright Mind makes.
I bought this food two months ago for my nine year old mini dachshund looking for healthy ways to help him recover from a year full of medical problems. I am happy to say that he is now back to the funny, lovable, playful, snuggly boy I know and love!

RECOMMENDED DAILY FEEDING AMOUNTS*
*Using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 120 g of Pro Plan.
We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow your dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily.
MAKING THE SWITCH TO PRO PLAN
Although you'll be anxious to see the difference Pro Plan can make in your dog, please allow 7 to 10 days to ease the transition from your dog’s current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily.
For your pet’s health, see your veterinarian regularly.
