I have been a veterinary technician for 10 years and have had lots of education on nutrition for our four legged children. Purina Pro Plan is a wonderful diet and I have been feeding my 5 year old Shepherd mix this diet for the past couple years. Her coat is gorgeous, she is a picky eater and loves the shredded chicken, and her energy level is well...she goes backcountry snowboarding all winter! She is an incredible athlete. Her health is my #1 priority. I have learned lots about almost ever brand of dog food on the market and I will stand by my opinion no matter how much of a discount the other companies want to offer me :)
Yes, her coat is shiny and she loves this food, but she's a Labrador and eats feces so I don't put much stock in her opinion. Because of the high quality nutrition and high Kilo-Calories per cup I feed her a smaller amount (compared to many other lower quality/cheaper foods) which means she only has a BM once daily and the size of her bowel movements are small and easily picked up one handed. And finally because she requires smaller amounts it takes me a lot longer to go through a bag, meaning I save money by buying food less frequently.

RECOMMENDED DAILY FEEDING AMOUNTS
Using a standard 8 oz/250 ml measuring cup which contains approximately 96 g of Pro Plan.
We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow your dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily.
